S slovenščino po svetu (With Slovene Around the World) came about thanks to an initiative by teachers of Slovene as a foreign language at universities outside Slovenia. It is intended for classroom work or for independent use by students wishing to improve their knowledge of Slovene.
The material is divided into 18 units that can be dealt with in any order and into two parts: a collection of units with exercises and a separate selection of texts for students to work with
It is designed to help students develop their communicative skills – linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic – in Slovene as a foreign language at upper intermediate and advanced levels (students should be around level C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference).
