Tour of Ljubljana Old Town Centre
Ljubljana’s size places it among middle-sized to large European cities. It is charming because it is small and has everything that the big capitals have. Traces from all the rich historical periods have been preserved: remains of the Roman Emona, Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau facades, decorated portals, and romantic bridges that embellish the Ljubljanica river. A visit to the old town centre will take us to Ljubljana’s main sights.
Wednesday
2.30–7.00 pm
A trip to Lake Bled
Picture postcard views and historic sites make Bled one of the most popular tourist destinations in Slovenia. Bled is famous worldwide because of the castle and the lake with the island and the church. The lake is surrounded by beautiful forests and high peaks of the Alps. We will drive to Bled by bus; the ride is about 40 minutes long. There we will be able to enjoy nature, go for a walk or take a boat trip on the lake.
Thursday
2.30–4.00 pm
Visit to the National Gallery
The National Gallery of Slovenia is a place where the largest collection of works of art originating from Slovene territory is kept. The art stretches from Middle Ages to Modernism. We will visit the gallery’s permanent collection containing works of European paint schools from the 12th to the 20th century.
Friday
12.30–1.00 pm
Closing Ceremony
During a short closing ceremony, participants will receive their certificates of attendance.
