    GUIDED TOUR OF LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana’s size places it among middle to big European cities, it is charming because it is small and has everything that the big capitals have. Traces from all the rich, historical periods have been preserved; remains of the Roman Emona, Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau facades, decorated portals and romantic bridges that embellish the Ljubljanica river, the small but romantic river which bisects the city. The visit to the old town centre will take us to Ljubljana’s main sights.

    Thursday, 9 July
    8.00–9.00 pm

    CONCERT: GUGUTKE

Gugutke is a quintet of Slovenian musicians who, with a youthful approach, perform folk music from regions ranging from Northeast Italy all the way to Turkey. Their repertoire spans from romantic vocal ballads to lively dance rhythms, allowing them to adapt to different stages and audiences. In 2025, they also released their first album.

    Monday, 13 July
    5.00–7.30 pm

    FILM: WHITES WASH AT NINETY

A touching, humorous and inspiring film about coping with illness follows Bronja through different stages of her life. After losing her mother to cancer in childhood, she is forced to confront the same insidious disease herself in her youth. Despite numerous and almost insurmountable challenges, Bronja faces them with a mixture of tears, laughter and unwavering optimism. The film is based on a true story and an autobiographical novel of the same title.

    Tuesday, 14 July
    4.00–9.00 pm

    TRIP TO LAKE BLED

Bled, with its natural beauty, fascinating history and location south of the Alps, is a popular tourist destination. The castle and the lake with its island and church are among the sights for which Slovenia is known almost worldwide. We will travel to Bled by coach, a journey of approximately 40 minutes, where we will be welcomed by a guide who will explain why this place is so appealing to visitors. After the guided tour, we will have some free time for a walk, rowing on the lake, swimming or visiting the castle. Those with a sweet tooth can, of course, also try the famous Bled cream cake.

    Thursday, 16 July
    8.00–11.00 pm

    CLOSING EVENT: KARAOKE

To conclude the Summer School, we will gather at a café for a karaoke evening. We will sing along to Slovenian and international songs, chat, have a snack and toast the upcoming end of the course.
