Slovene for Students Online

Slovene course for students of the University of Ljubljana!

Application form should be sent by 1 October 2020 for the Winter term and by 18 February 2021 for the Summer term! 

You should attach to the application form a proof that you are a student of the University of Ljubljana (a photo or scan of the certificate of registration or letter of acceptance for the academic year 2020/21). The deadline is 1 October 2020 (Winter term) or 18 February 2021 (Summer term)!

  • winter term: 15 October 2020–14 January 2021 (no classes: 24 Dec–1 Jan)
  • summer term: 4 March–3 June 2021 (no classes: 26–30 April)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.00 to 7.30 pm (Slovene time)
  • 60 hours (48 contact hours via videoconference and 12 hours of homework)

Course

The course is organized as a videoconference on ZOOM. The online classes are similar to the ones in a regular classroom. Your teacher is going to be with you live, twice a week for 2 school hours, and will answer your questions. The teacher will give you various tasks. There will be plenty of opportunities for conversation, phonetic exercises, grammar tasks, reading, listening and writing activities. 

We will send you the learning material via regular mail; you will receive it before the beginning of the course.

IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE ONLINE CLASSES, YOU NEED:

  • a good internet connection,
  • a computer with a camera and a microphone
  • and a quiet room.

Price: EUR 200

The learning material is included in the price.

In each group there are 5 to 10 students. 

  • Certificates

    Certificate of Attendance

    At the end of the course you will receive an official Certificate of Attendance of a Slovene language course at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana.

    Credit points

    After successful completion of the course students are awarded 3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credit points.

    Certificate of Slovene

    If you want to obtain an official certificate of Slovene you can take the Exam of Slovene at the Examination centre of the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language.

  • Participants

    The course is intended for foreign students, studying at the University of Ljubljana. You should attach to the application form a proof that you are a student of the University of Ljubljana (a photo or scan of the certificate of registration or letter of acceptance for the academic year 2020/21).

  • Registration and payment

    You can apply for the course with the application form by 1 October 2020 for the Winter term and by 18 February 2021 for the Summer term. After we have received the application form we will send you a placement test​. The course must be paid in full no later than 5 October 2020 (Winter term) or 22 February 2021 (Summer term).
