Afternoon Course of Slovene Language Online

An 80-hour language course held twice a week in the afternoons. Lesson times are suitable for anyone employed.

  • Autumn: 30 September 2024–15 January 2025 (no classes: 28 Oct–1 Nov, 21 Dec 2024–5 Jan 2025)
  • three 45-minute lessons twice a week, 80 school hours
  • Mondays and Wednesdays from 6.00 to 8.30 pm (Slovene time)

Course

The course is organized as a videoconference on ZOOM. The online classes are similar to the ones in a regular classroom. Your teacher is going to be with you live, twice a week for 3 school hours, and will answer your questions. The teacher will give you various tasks. There will be plenty of opportunities for conversation, phonetic exercises, grammar tasks, reading, listening and writing activities.

We will send you the learning material via regular mail; you will receive it before the beginning of the course.

IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE ONLINE CLASSES, YOU NEED:

  • a good internet connection,
  • a computer with a camera and a microphone
  • and a quiet room.

  • Registration and payment

    You can apply for the course via internet at least three weeks before the course begins. After we have received your application form, we will send you the invoice by regular or e-mail.

    The language course must be paid in full no later than 10 days before the beginning of the course. You should send your payment receipt via e-mail or postal address

    When we have received the payment receipt we will send you the letter of acceptance as well as information material on the Afternoon Course of Slovene Language.

  • Participants

    Anyone with an interest in learning or improving their Slovene is very welcome to attend our courses. However, participants must be at least 18 years old. More about the participants.
  • Certificates

    Certificate of Attendance

    At the end of the course you will receive an official Certificate of Attendance of a Slovene language course at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana.

    Credit points

    After successful completion of the course participants are awarded 4 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credit points.

    Certificate of Slovene

    If you want to obtain an official certificate of Slovene you can take the Exam of Slovene at the Examination centre of the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language.

  • Scholarships

    Members of Slovene ethnic minorities in other countries and descendants of Slovene expatriates and emigrants can apply for the scholarship for the course. More information and application…
