Courses for Adults

Slovene language courses are intended for those whose first language is not Slovene, however, they wish to learn it for different reasons. We offer various ways of learning Slovene in a stimulative environment, with experienced teachers and quality materials. We have more than 30 years of experience in the organising of courses and thousands of satisfied participants.

  • Office Hours

    Due to public holidays and collective leave there will be no office hours at the Center for Slovene on 27 and 28 April as well as 1 and 2 May 2017. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Summer and Autumn School Scholarships for Adults

    By 15 May 2017 members of Slovene ethnic minorities in other countries and descendants of Slovene expatriates and emigrants can apply for the following scholarships:

    • 36th Summer school of Slovene language (3–14 July or 17–28 July 2017)
    • Autumn school of Slovene language (2 October 2017–12 January 2018)

    Candidates who do not have Slovene background, but are actively engaged in Slovene culture or in some other way contribute to the promotion of Slovenia in the world can apply by 1 May 2017 for one of the scholarships of the Jana Zemljarič Miklavčič Scholarship Trust for the Summer school.   • Change of application deadlines for scholarships

    We have changed the deadlines for submitting applications for scholarships as follows:

    • Autumn school: the deadline has been moved from 31 August to 15 May 2017
    • Winter and Spring school: the deadline has been moved from 31 December to 31 August 2017

  • Registration and payment

    You can apply for a course by completing the application form on our website (first you have to choose a course) at least two weeks before the desired course begins.

    After we have received the application form we will send you the invoice by regular mail or E-mail. The language course must be paid in full no later than 10 days before the beginning of the desired course. More…

    The courses are elementary, intermediate and advanced. More…
  • Course Locations

    The courses run at different locations in Ljubljana.
  • Certificate of Attendance

    An 80-percent attendance is required in order to receive an official Certificate of Attendance of a Slovene language course at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. More…
