Melita Vešner studied Slovene and comparative literature at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts. Since 2004, she has been teaching in the Slovene Language Courses for Adults programme at the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language. She is involved in preparing and developing teaching materials, and she conducts research on modern approaches to language teaching, with a particular focus in recent years on humour. As a university language teacher, she has also taught Slovene courses at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. She is also involved in work at the Examination Centre.

Teaching Slovene as a second and foreign language, language testing, false friends in South Slavic languages, graded readers, humour
