Elective courses: Slovene as a second or third Slavic language for undergraduate students with a solid knowledge of another Slavic language and graduate students with research plans in Slovene studies, e.g. in Slovene history, politics, or linguistics. Students can enroll in 1–6 hours of language course and work with the instructor following an individualized plan that is designed according to their needs, goals, and background.

One-year beginners and intermediate courses for students who have already studied a Slavic language or German. The main aim of the courses is the reinforcement of research competences, especially of postgraduate students, who are, in addition to their main subject, interested in Slovene language, culture and history. The courses are also open to external participants, especially children of Slovene emigrants.
