Jana Kete Matičič studied Slovene and philosophy at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts. She joined the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language in 2008, working in the Slovene Language Courses for Adults unit. She is responsible for organising Slovene language courses, managing the programme, and – together with the head of lecturers – overseeing the team of teachers involved in the courses.

She also administers Slovene language-proficiency exams and is the coauthor of the online course Slonline (Parts 1 and 2).
