Assoc. Prof. Damjan Huber, PhD, received his BA in Slovene and his PhD in textual phonetics and the standardisation and codification of Slovene at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts. At the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language, he is the head of two international events: the Seminar of Slovene Language, Literature, and Culture, and the Obdobja Symposium. He also contributes to the activities of the Slovene at Foreign Universities unit, the administration of Slovene language-proficiency exams, and the development of materials for teaching Slovene as a foreign language. Since July 2016, he has been the head of the centre’s staff and, in 2020, he received an award for his professional achievements from the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts.

At the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts and the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television, and at the University of Klagenfurt’s Institute of Slavic Studies, he teaches classes covering (standard) Slovene (textual) phonetics and speech perception and analysis.
