The city has preserved traces of all periods of its rich history, including the legacy of Roman Emona, Renaissance, Baroque, and Secession fa\u00e7ades, ornate portals, and romantic bridges that adorn the Ljubljanica River. During the walk through the old town, we will explore Ljubljana\u2019s main sights.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The tour will be conducted in Slovenian and English.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 150px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 100%; height: 150px;\">\n<p>Thursday, 29 January<br \/>4:50\u2013 6:30 p.m.<br \/><strong>ICE SKATING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">No proper Winter School is complete without winter sports. This time, we will try our hand at ice skating. We will head to the outdoor artificial ice rink in \u0160i\u0161ka, next to the Aleja shopping centre, and take our first steps on the ice. Those who are more talented and daring will even have the chance to show off with a pirouette or two.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">NOTICE:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Participation in ice skating is at your own risk.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 200px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 100%; height: 150px;\">\n<p>Tuesday, 3 February<br \/>4:20\u2013 6:00 p.m.<br \/><strong>VISIT TO THE EXHIBITION SLOVENIANS IN THE 20TH CENTURY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The twentieth century is one of the most turbulent periods in Slovene history. During this time, the Slovenes changed a few countries and state systems, survived two world wars, joined the technological revolution and achieved an independent state. Our guide from the National Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia will tell us everything about this interesting period.<\/p>\n<p>The tour will be conducted in Slovene and English.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 200px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 100%; height: 200px;\">\n<p>Thursday, 5 February<br \/>3:50\u2013 5:30 p.m.<br \/><strong>WORKSHOP: KURENT MASKS FROM WOOLEN FABRIC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Are you feeling a bit mischievous and creative? Then come to the carnival mask workshop, where we will create a small Kurent \u2013 an iconic figure of Slovenian carnival heritage \u2013 using woolen fabric. Participants will learn about the history and symbolism of the Kurent and will be taught how to design the mask using various textile design techniques.
