The Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana does not cooperate with any of the institutions that administer exams and issue certificates of Slovenian language proficiency outside Slovenia in the development of exams and their administration. It has also not participated in the development of, and does not participate in the administration of the Slovenian language exams for medical doctors under the auspices of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, and fully disassociates from them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Slovenian language exam at any of the four levels administered by the Slovenian Language Centre provides a publicly valid certificate of Slovenian language proficiency, which can be presented by individuals for any official purpose in Slovenia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"module-content\">\n<ul class=\"accordion\">\n<li>\n<h3><a id=\"prijave-in-odjave\"><\/a>Registering and deregistering<\/h3>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<ol data-start=\"29\" data-end=\"324\">\n<li data-start=\"29\" data-end=\"97\">\n<p data-start=\"32\" data-end=\"97\">Select the level, date, and exam provider: <a href=\"https:\/\/centerslo.si\/en\/exams\/exam-dates\"><strong data-start=\"75\" data-end=\"97\">Exam dates 2026<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"99\" data-end=\"324\">\n<p data-start=\"102\" data-end=\"324\">By clicking on the selected institution (e.g. the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language, Adult Education Centres, JZ Cene \u0160tupar, Andragogical Institute Maribor), you will find the instructions for registration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"326\" data-end=\"418\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">After we receive your application form, we will send you an invoice for the exam (<a href=\"https:\/\/centerslo.si\/en\/exams#cena-izpita\">exam fee<\/a>).<\/p>\n<h4>Deregistering from the exam<\/h4>\n<p>If you have registered for an exam and if you have already paid for the exam, but cannot attend it (for example, due to illness), you can deregister from the exam. You can do this in person, by phone, or by e-mail up to <strong>four working days<\/strong> before the exam date. In this case you will either be scheduled to take the exam during the next exam period (at the same institution), or you will receive 85% of the exam costs back. If you have deregistered from an exam, you may not register anew for an exam during the same exam period.<\/p>\n<p>If you withdraw from the exam without deregistering, you must register again to take an exam; payment in full is required. When registering fort he exam, you are required to submit a Certificate of Eligibility for a free first Slovene language exam at the breakthrough level issued by the Employment Service of Slovenia. The exam provider retains this Certificate.<\/p>\n<p>The costs of the examination are covered by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/english.ess.gov.si\/\">Employment Service of Slovenia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates eligible for a free first test of Slovenian language proficiency at the breakthrough, basic, intermediate or advanced level according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pisrs.si\/pregledPredpisa?id=URED9033\">Decree on Providing Assistance for the Integration of Foreigners Who Are Not EU Citizens (PISRS) (Ur. l. RS Nr. 27\/24)<\/a> must present the original Certificate of Fulfillment of Conditions for a Free First Test of Slovenian Language Proficiency or the Certificate of Fulfillment of Conditions for Participation in the Slovenian Language Learning Program and for a Free First Test of Slovenian Language Proficiency, obtained from the relevant administrative unit, when registering. The costs for the free first test of Slovenian proficiency are covered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.si\/en\/state-authorities\/government-offices\/government-office-for-the-support-and-integration-of-migrants\/about-the-office\/\"> The Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants <\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.si\/drzavni-organi\/ministrstva\/ministrstvo-za-notranje-zadeve\/o-ministrstvu\/sekretariat\/sluzba-za-evropska-sredstva\/\"> The European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) <\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-24100\" src=\"https:\/\/centerslo.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Logotip-Urada-Vlade-Republike-Slovenije-za-oskrbo-in-integracijo-migrantov-1024x213.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"56\" \/> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-24102\" src=\"https:\/\/centerslo.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/SL_Co-fundedbytheEU_RGB_POS-1024x270.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"56\" \/>\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/infotujci.si\/en\/integration-into-slovenian-society\/slovenian-language-exams\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More &#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A person with international protection who has signed an agreement on integration activities with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.si\/zbirke\/storitve\/izdaja-potrdila-o-izpolnjevanju-pogojev-za-brezplacni-prvi-preizkus-znanja-slovenskega-jezika\/\"> Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants of the Republic of Slovenia <\/a> is issued a referral for a one-time free first attempt at the Slovenian language exam.<\/p>\n<p>The costs of the first free attempt at the Slovenian language exam are covered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.si\/en\/state-authorities\/government-offices\/government-office-for-the-support-and-integration-of-migrants\/\"> Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants of the Republic of Slovenia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The fee for <a href=\"https:\/\/centerslo.si\/en\/exams\/slovene-language-exams\/individual-exam\/\">individual exam<\/a> is higher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><a id=\"izvedba-izpita\"><\/a>Exam administration<\/h3>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>The Slovene language exams are composed of a written and an oral section. For both sections you will have to prove your identity by means of valid photo identification. For the written section of the exam you will need a pen; you may not use any other aids. Candidates take the advanced level exam on computers (provided by the Examination Centre).<\/p>\n<p>The written and the oral section of the breakthrough and the basic level exam are usually administered the same day, while at the intermediate level and advanced level the two sections are administered over two (usually consecutive) days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><a id=\"rezultati\"><\/a>Results<\/h3>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>Candidates will receive their exam results no later than 30 work days after the exam. If the candidate has passed the exam, s\/he will receive a Certificate of Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language, along with an insert about the results. The Certificate is a publicly valid document and the candidate can use it for various official purposes.<\/p>\n<p>If the candidate fails the exam, s\/he will receive a statement of results.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><a id=\"candidates-rights\"><\/a>Candidates&#8217; Rights<\/h3>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>After receiving the exam results, candidates can look at their exam papers and discuss their answers; they will also receive an explanation about the grade awarded. Appointments for looking into the exam documentations must be arranged in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates can appeal against the exam procedure (within 8 days of the exam) or against the exam result (within 8 days of having receiving the result). After the appeal is submitted, the candidate will receive a payment order. The fee must be paid no later than five days after receiving the payment order. If the fee is not paid within this period, the appeal will be considered withdrawn. If the appeal is upheld, the fee will be refunded to the candidate (Pravilnik o izvajanju izpitov iz znanja sloven\u0161\u010dine kot drugega in tujega jezika, \u010dlen 50).<\/p>\n<p>Candidates will receive a response from the Appeals Commission no later than <strong>30 work days<\/strong> after the appeal has been submitted. The Appeals Commission\u2019s decision is final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><a id=\"kandidati-s-posebnimi-potrebami\"><\/a>Candidates with special needs<\/h3>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n<p>Candidates with special needs can take the exam in an adapted form, for example, with additional writing time, larger print, by means of lip reading, and so on.
